To Make My Eldest Laugh

Well, definitely not the greatest card, but then again I made this in the remaining 3 minutes I had before going out the door (I actually threw the first three attempts away)!  My daughter had a rough day in her classroom, then training plus my son-in-law had also had a rough day, so I decided to attempt to lighten the mood since we were going over and imposing on their time for "an opinion".  So, here it is...

LOL! Well, not only is the movie hilarious to my family, I fell in love with these stamps because this daughter is also my most avid reader!  Well..... it worked! I got a laugh, a hug, and the ability to lighten her bummer day.  Success!

CS: Neenah 110#
Stamp: Clearly Besotted - I Like Big Books
Ink: Memento black
Copics
and a handmade matching envie!  And it's in her classroom for awhile....

Have a "light" day,

Hello!

Well, hello!  Since that is what my card is all about, I thought I'd say it AND express how happy I am that you stopped by!

I stamped and colored this image awhile ago but neglected to do something with him.  I think he's adorable, and I was prompted by Jennifer McGuire's coloring.

Since I had the same image, and I fell in love with her coloring, I thought I would try my hand at it as well.  I adore her card, which makes me know that I still have a lot more practice to do!  Here's my card:

I stamped the image and heat embossed with black ep, colored him with Peerless watercolors, adding perfect pearls to the mixture, then added the sentiment on a snipped piece of black cs, covered in VersaMark and then coated with clear ep for the shine to match the black on Mr. Owl.

Well, that's all I've got photographed from my pile of "practicing", so I'll bid adieu for now.  Happy crafting!

He Is Risen - TIME OUT #48 Challenge

OK, so I know I am really early with Easter, but my brain just went there! Please don't throw stones because I'm not sure how my brain goes "squirrel!" all by itself.

When I saw Marika's card at Time Out -

...my brain automatically when to "cross".  So, here's mine:

And a close-up to show the shine and dimension:

I had done the background paper quite some time ago, purple cs with VersaMark and heat embossed with holographic ep.  So, today I decided to use it added gold ribbon (royal colors!), cut the flourish from watercolor paper, colored with ZIG clean colors, then popped them up with some glue dots and some mini foam dots, and added pearls to the centers.  I stamped the sentiment and added it with a row of foam tape as well.  Oh, yes, I also painted on some gold Shimmer Mist onto the stems and small buds.

Hope you like it! Have a great weekend, and please stop by again!

MUSE #148 and belated Birthday

First, I have to apologize for the photos, it's been really gray here and obviously I need another
method of photographing my cards!  My first card is  inspired by Anita's inspiration card:

And here's my submission:

This second photo is a better representation of the colors and shine... colored with Zigs.

This card is going to MUSE #148.
Paper:  Neenah, DCWV silver Glitsy Glitter
Ink:  Versamark
Stamp: oldie Bold Patterns from Hot Off The Press
Silver Signo pen, HA silver ep

My next card was a belated Birthday for my best friend -- unfortunately, it was really late due to holidays and travel...

I just love all these little elephants that are so popular right now, but I must practice on the coloring!  I also added Glossy Accents to the balloons, but unfortunately you can't see it as I ran out of time before work and getting it posted on the way out the door...

Paper:  Neenah
Stamp:  W+9 Unforgettable
Color:  Copics
Ink: ME Smoke (P), Versafine
Misc: Glossy accents, ZIG pen for doodling

Thanks for joining me today, may God bless you this week!

Well, I'm going for the gusto! My first challenge EVER, and I must say I was prodded on by the wonderful Michele of I Card Everyone.  She was my first follower, and the second to contact me and welcome me to the card making world of blogging.  PLUS, she's actually the MUSE -- how could I not?  Here's Michele's card:

I used Michele's basic color scheme, die cuts and layout.  I changed up the white on black to black on white paper, light to dark oval, no stamping, theme.

Our Valentine Story

Now that we're officially past the holidays and New Year's, here's a little diddy I made previously.
This little card is one that that wasn't posted because I didn't have a blog yet, but I wanted to post it because, well, I just love the sentiment!!!

Just in case you can't read the sentiment, it says "every Love Story is Beautiful, but ours is my favorite"!  Gotta love that!

Die: Sizzix
Ink:  Memento Ladybug
Sentiment: PTI Sending My Love

Thanks for stopping by, have a fabulous day!  See you in a couple days...
