Peace

OK I'm changing gears here a bit, changing things up just in case anyone was tired of cutesy!  I went with one of my inka smooshed panels, a panel of foiled cs and a pretty die word.

And another view to show a bit more of the shimmer of the Inka...

I think I'm finally getting through most of my cards.  I actually had a few others but I knew my camera battery was low but pushed through photographing them, only to find out that although the camera didn't shut off -- it also didn't save all the photos!  Bummer!  By the time I learned of the situation, the cards were sealed and some mailed....  so.... you'll have to trust that I made more.  Oh well, live and learn, right?

Products -

DCWV foil, Inka gold in blue and silver

Short posts, but I'm sure you all can relate to the busy-ness of the season!  Blessings to all!

Merry Christmas

Here's a couple more versions of the elves, eagerly awaiting the unwrapping of presents but digging into his stocking.  These were mailed and hopefully reached their destinations, so I hope I'm safe to post.

These are some more of those adorable MFT images!  I'm just so thrilled with so many of their images, they're just so fun!!!  These were colored with Copics, winked with a bit of Stella and set on a floor of older pp.  You get the idea I'm going with cutesy this year?  I think so, I think I've been totally mesmerized by adorableness!  Hope no one has gotten tired of it...

Products -
MFT Santa's Elves, LF Joy To The World (sentiment)
Copics, Wink of Stella, misc. pp

Hope everyone has their shopping done, it's getting crazy out there!

Holly Jolly...

Another card made with the big bear, I just love him because he looks so squeezable!  I get a kick out of his big belly, his big cup of coffee (which reminds me of Hubbs), and that warm sweater.  I'm pretty sure he'd love to share a cup of coffee with ANY takers...

He's pretty self-explanatory, so I'll spare you the details...

Products -
MFT Cool Day *dies, MCS Ornate Labels: Christmas, Avery Elle Dotted Border
SSS Falling Snow stencil, DreamWeaver Pearlescent embossing paste with glitter on top
   Copics

I send my sincerest thank yous to those of you who continue to lift me up, encourage me, and teach me.  I'm glad to call you friends, and I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful creations!  Have a great week leading up to such a wonderful holiday.

Hugs,

Holly Jolly, Very Merry, Merry Christmas!

Whew!  Here's another 3 cards that have been received by their respective recipients.  These were done ala Cat Craig style of Cat Luvs Paper.  I know others have done this technique (partial die cutting by Laura Bassen and Jennifer McGuire) but Cat's seems to be the one that really made me wanna try as it was a little different.  Cat's technique is where you die cut the image vertically on one side so it hangs over some pretty patterned paper; others have had their images peeking out a window, behind a shaker etc.  So I couldn't do just one but decided to try 3 different cards since I had so much fun!  Take a gander at these...

Products -
MFT Santa's Elves *dies, MCS Joy To The World, Copics, misc pp (it really does match the greens better IRL)

Products -
MFT Toasty Greetings *dies, Copies, Wink of Stella, MFT Sweet Celebration 6x6 pack

Ok, I have to admit I accidentally cut this bear completely off the panel -- oops!  So I made the most of it and attached it to my half panel, and well....went with it!  It's still cute but I wish I hadn't cut it off, live and learn.

Well I managed to finish up my gifts/tags for co-workers and get them ready for tomorrow.  I wrapped a couple last small presents and put the candy in the stockings (no one will be around to see it til Christmas so I'm safe)!

Hope you're on top of things and your holidays won't be stress-filled.  Happy Tuesday to all...

FMS #267 - Love, Peace & Joy

A quick post because, well, I'm wearing down...  I'd say my pajamas are calling me but I'm already in them!  I've been comfy for awhile but my eyes are wearing out.  So onto the card ~

I did some tone-on-tone stamping on the red cut panel, then set out on the white cut panel.  I stamped a faint image to use as a background, then stamped the Love, Peace & Joy in 3 colors, using gold ink for Peace -- I thought it was fitting.  I then added a golden ribbon at the top however it looks more metallic and bronzey (except IRL) due to the red panel underneath .

Products -
   Lil Inkers Stitched Rectangles
PTI Mistletoe & Holly, and Love, Peace & Joy mini

Well, in case you're on your way over the hills and through the woods to Grandmother's house, I hope to be seeing you around.  If not, I truly hope that your holidays are perfect and filled with lots of loved ones around!

Hugs,
TK

Wishing You...

Another Christmas card, this one done as a single.  Some of my recent cards have been similar but not duplicates; this one is not.  This one is actually a CASE of one I remember from a few years ago made by Heather Nichols of Pine Is Here.  I fell in love with the card and HAD to make a similar one.  So here 'tis...
I used a snippet of paper still on my desk, a background stamp on white cut into a panel, then stamped my images over that.  I added a snippet of ribbon, a short piece of hemp cord holding the sentiment banner popped up on a kraft base.  Someone's been influencing me though -- come on, admit it, you know who you are!  I stamped some images around the inside sentiment too...

Products -
Lil Inkers Stitched Rectangles and MCS Straight Banners
PTI Mistletoe & Holly, Impression Obsessions Dotted Argyle (faint background - love this stamp!)

Oh man!  I'll be back in the next few days because I still have more cards to post, onward and upward!  I'll be seeing you around, I'm loving what I'm seeing out there in blog-land!

Hugs,
TK

SSS Monday: Let There Be Snow - Happy Birthday, Hubbs!

Well the Hubbs' Birthday is gone, but then again I can't really post until he's gotten the card, can I?  So here's what I made this year...

I've been using a lot of NBUS lately, and rarely mentioning, but here's another.  I've always loved this stamp set and just never got around to using it.  Since it's been snowing off and on for awhile, now dipping into the single digits on the thermometer, I figured this would be a good time to get it out!   The card is actually pretty CAS but I did add the greenery/berries and bow to the inside with the rest of the sentiment.

Challenge -
I'll be sending this over to Simon Says Stamp.  Even though there is actually no snow on the card, I think it's pretty obviously it's assumed (I mean, who sleds without snow?).  I hope that's ok...

Products -
PTI Two Feet Deep, SSS Sending & Wishing, and Altenew Birthday Greetings

Hope everyone is keeping safe, warm, and dry!  Thanks for popping in and giving me a moment of your time...

Hugs,
TK

MUSE #196 - Faith

Here's Tracey's beautiful card....

A friend going through some tough times.  She knows the Lord, her biggest support, but I wanted to send a little support to...  I started with the main die cut out of foil paper, then inlaid the colors that I also die cut.  I then used the big swoopy stamp and its finishing stamp.  I also used a corner punch and added a colored strip underneath bring a little color to the bottom.

Here's my card...

Here's Tracey's beautiful card -

I used her die cut at top, swoopy sentiment and lots of white space!

Products -

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  Hubbs' Birthday today, so a quiet evening in while the temps dip into the single digits tonight and tomorrow!  We'll actually celebrate with the kids on Sunday.  Happy cardmaking, hope to see you soon!

CAS MixUp - December, Fusion - It's Christmas, AND Merry Monday #226

Another card to share, one that is winging its way to the recipient, and hopefully there!  I sponged a background, die cut the snowbank and applied a glitter using double-sided adhesive paper, then die cut and colored the other elements.  After everything was together, I added the sentiment.  Here she be!

This fits nicely into two challenges, so they be headed to:
CAS Mix-Up (Dec.) - Stamping, sponging, diecuts, Copic coloring and glitter
Fusion (It's Christmas) -I used both the sketch (which I flipped on the short side), and the photo (the sparkle on the pillow, and white).   Pooh! I missed it -- been caught up in jury duty and when I get home it's too late!!!

ETA: Bobby encouraged me to join in at Merry Monday #226 - Winter Fun since I missed out on Fusion!  Thanks for the invite, Bobby!

Happiest of Holidays

Boy!  Is it my imagination or is it feast or famine around here?  Well you know what they say?  "Get it while the gettin's good!"  Kinda my motto these days.   so onto the card...

Another little snowman as cute as can be, he's staying warm by the fire with glee...  well at least for a short bit!  He's quite proud of his little fire, don't you think?  I think he's even inviting you over!  I used a torn bit of white paper, a left over die cut snowflake, and a couple colored and cut images, popped up on foam, and placed over a matchy background rectangle.  There's a bit of WoS on that snowy slope though I don't think you can see it very well, but I promise it's there.  We've had several snows already, none overly big but earlier than usual for us -- I guess that's where my inspiration came from in a few cards.

Well must run, I've got more cards to make and I need to catch up with all of you -- I've been missing the visiting!  Take care, keep warm by the fire (unless you're in warm territory)!

A Couple LF Strings...

I know I haven't been around much, I think I've been behind since we returned from our Thanksgiving trip!  So this'll be a short post, just popping in to share a couple cards.  They are actually similar, just different papers, both use the same layout and die.... so here we go!
This first one uses a pp from The Paper Studio and is in blue and red colors.

This second one uses paper, also from The Paper Studio, but in brick red and teal colors.  On both, I actually used VersaMark Frost on colored paper, then heat embossed several layers of clear ep.  It's a little hard to see, but the shimmer is really pretty.  The inside sentiments (which you can't see...) are from My Craft Spot - Joy To The Woods.

Products:
Both cards - TPS papers, Lawn Fawn String of Lights (NBUS), VM Frost, clear EP, DCWV Gold foil and PTI Fine Linen
Red & blue card - PTI Sweet Blush and Pure Poppy cardstocks; matching inks
Red & teal card - PTI Hawaiian Shores and Aqua Mist cardstocks

Thanks for stopping by and taking a gander; I know everyone has busy schedules and I appreciate your friendships!

CTS #197 - Happy Birthday, MICHELE!

I'm really hoping there's a party going on, and I wanted to throw my card in the basket for Michele!  She's as sweet as can be, and a really good card-maker, as you can see!  Hopefully she has it in hand, but if not it'll be there soon! Here's to you, sweet Michele! Hope your day is spectacular!   Ok, onto the reason we're here...

It all started with a watercolor panel, die cut with the flowers then layered onto a panel cut at an angle and ink blending done.  A sentiment was then embossed with a sparkly ep.  And a close-up so you can see the sparkle... I only wish the picture was better but alas it is cloudy here.

This will be enrolled into Case This Sketch #197, ending today!  Whew, I made it!  I really enjoyed the DT's cards but Michele's really spoke to me, so only fitting this one to her goes there too.

Products -
Dies:  AJVD Pop-Up Flowers, Avery Elle Dotted Border
Ink:  Ranger Antique Linen, Wild Honey
   Stamp:  PTI Stylish Sentiments Birthday
Misc:   Peerless watercolors, Ranger Watercolor paper, Ranger Enchanted Gold ep

Thanks for spending a bit of your day with me, and hopefully enjoyed helping me celebrate Michele's Birthday!

MUSE #190, Color Throwdown #417

I have to sadly admit that the frustrations of last week apparently are not over yet.... I tried seriously to make several cards the other night, staying up late, only to throw everything in the trash!  I have tried, and made a couple since although I can honestly say that they're not my best -- my "groove" has definitely taken a hit!

Here is one that I've completed, and so I'll put it into a couple of  challenges knowing well that it isn't my best.  But!  When you get thrown from a horse, you MUST get back up, so here it goes...

My die cuts were cut from a leftover watercolor panel from another card and deeper accents sponged on.  I used an inked embossing folder and light pressure to transfer the woodgrain in color instead of dimension.  I left off a sentiment, and even left the inside blank to fill out when I use it.

When I saw Estelle's inspiration card at MUSE, I knew I had to try.  I love the beautiful pop of burgundy, the homey wood-grain and then those beautiful leaves so I used them for inspiration, changing up the colors and leaves.  Take a peek & enjoy...

Then I saw the colors at Color Throwdown #417, and knew I wanted to try to challenge myself to use the light blue because I knew it would be easy using the first two colors!

Products -
   EF:  TH/Sizzix Wooden
   Stamps:  WPlus9 Woodland Basics
   CS:  Neenah, PTI Spring Rain
Ink:  PTI Spring Rain, Ranger Evergreen Bough, Wild Honey

Hope to see you all again soon, hopefully this week will let me be a little more productive!  Thanks for stopping by!

FMS #261 - Autumn Birthday Wishes

Just a quick post as this week's been hectic, to say the least.  Frustrations (and extra work) at the job, although I'm EXTREMELY thankful for the hours, I think we can all do without the frustrations!  So onto the card...

I made this card for an upcoming Birthday at work, and it just happens to fit nicely into Freshly Made Sketches #261, except that I turned it on edge and widened the middle strip.

I stamped and embossed the leaf on watercolors, and colored with DIs, then cut out the panel with a SB die.  I did not emboss the outline so the watercolors bled out, but I kinda like it anyway.   I then sponged matching color around the edges and popped it up with a vellum overlay strip where I embossed the sentiment in gold.  Two gold strips of washi were then added on the edges, and a Memory Thread bow added to the left side.   The sentiment strip is delicate so a bit hard to see, here's a close-up...

Products -
Stamp:  Altenew Be-Leaf Me and PTI Autumn Hills (both NBUS)
   Die:  Spellbinder Lace Doily Motifs
Inks:  Ranger DIs - Fired Brick, Ripe Persimmon and Scattered Straw, VM black and Brilliance Galaxy Gold
   Misc:  Washi, Memory Thread, vellum

Hope your weekend is RELAXING and full of craftiness.

Hugs,
TK

TO #69 - Grateful for You, Nothing Is Impossible

Made a little card, well actually two since I used the leftovers!  The first one fit nicely into the current challenge at Time Out - Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart!  I started with a watercolor panel using Peerless. A maple leaf and sentiment were stamped in gold then clear embossed, kind of hard to photograph but quite easy to see IRL.  So here's the first card...

And a second card, that doesn't fit into the challenge but was made with the leftovers.  Plus, since I've never made a shaker card...

As I mentioned, this was the leftovers from the die cut panel.    I kinda like it although the Flower Soft inside the panel doesn't move as much as I'd like, probably due to being so lightweight.  Lesson learned...

So, the first goes over to:

"Grateful" Products -
   Die:  Sizzix Parisian Motifs
   Stamp:  Altenew Be-Leaf Me
CS:  PTI Terracotta Tile, Ripe Avocado
   Ink:  Brilliance Galaxy Gold
Misc:  Peerless Watercolor, Ranger clear ep, Bo Bunny citrus jewels

"Luke 1:37" Products -
   Die:  Sizzix Parisian Motifs
   Stamp:  PTI Beautiful Blessings
   Ink:  Terracotta Tile
Misc:  Peerless Watercolor, Flower Soft - Autumn

Thanks again for letting me take a moment of your time, and Happy Sunday!

FMS260, SS Wed, CTS #196 - Mr and Mrs

Made a little card for a wedding, a water colored panel with several layers to get deeper colors.  I had the die cut heart left from another project so I wanted to use it and accent the deep blue.  It was heat embossed with a couple layers of silver ep.  I also embossed the sentiment, added a couple sequins and the silver ribbon.

I love the sparkle of the silver ep!  An inside sentiment was added in the same distress ink used for the watercolored panel.

I'll send this over to Freshly Made Sketches using this sketch (which I flipped on the long edge), and SS Wednesday: Anything Goes, (minus LF), Case This Sketch #196 (lowered and flipped)
